HOLIDAY SEASON HOUSE TOUR RETURNS TO DOWNTOWN COLLINSVILLE ON DECEMBER 5, 2009; Home Federal Sponsoring Event to Benefit Downtown Collinsville Inc. and Boy Scout Venture Crew 48

Collinsville Ill., November 2, 2009 – The public is invited to come inside nine distinctive Collinsville homes and cultural sites to experience their lavish holiday decorations and seasonal family traditions during the Collinsville Holiday House  Tour on Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m.  The self-guided tour will begin at the historic Blum House in downtown Collinsville, where refreshments, program books and assistance from Downtown Collinsville Inc. volunteers and members of Boy Scout Venture Crew 48 will be available for those taking the tour.

Tickets to the house tour are $10 each, and can be purchased in advance at Ashmann’s Pharmacy, 209 East Main Street in Collinsville, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. daily, or by calling 558-1372.  Tickets will also be available for purchase at Blum House on the day of the event.  Groups are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Proceeds from the Collinsville Holiday House Tour will benefit Downtown Collinsville Inc. and Boy Scout Venture Crew 48 from St. Johns UCC, Collinsville.  Home Federal Savings & Loan is the corporate sponsor of the event.

“The Holiday Hour Tour was a very popular annual event in Collinsville for many years,” said Tami Springer, a member of the Downtown Collinsville Inc. board of directors and organizer of this year’s event.  “We’re very excited to bring this event back after an absence of several years.  Thanks to the help of Home Federal Savings & Loan, it should be bigger and better than ever before.”
